THE SUPPORT MECHANISM
Zone 1 - Reception - Workshops
The public (groups or individuals) is welcomed by a facilitator who presents the instructions, the route, a survey, and workshops to raise awareness and encourage reflection on street harassment, sexual and gender-based violence, and school bullying. This facilitator manages the flow of visitors, counts them, and verifies appointments on a digital calendar provided by "5 Minutes In My Shoes" and available on the website (calendar).
Benches, armchairs, and chairs are available for public use. Posters displaying the history, statistics, and various information about harassment are located in this area, allowing the public to wait while waiting for the workshops to begin or to enter the simulator.
Partner associations can offer their tools if they correspond to "5 Minutes In My Shoes".
Every 5 minutes, four to five people enter the simulator. The experience is intimate.
ZONE 2 - Passage through the simulator
The facilitator will announce the instructions and warnings before entering the simulator. Entry is not mandatory. The minimum age to use the simulator is 14.
Zone 3 - Collection of Emotions
At least one professional psychologist mediator is present to gather emotions upon exiting the simulator.
This is THE key moment: it is at this point that people make revelations.
Zone 4 - workshops continued...
The mediator guides people to other discussion spaces where they can continue the workshops: surveys, quizzes, solutions.
This is where visitors receive their “diplomas”: a sticker to put on their phone or computer to show that they are part of the “5 Minutes In My Shoes” community; they also receive flyers offered by partner associations, the city, or the host organization.
A program of conferences, concerts, plays, readings, training sessions, and art exhibitions dealing with the subject can be organised.
